Restocking Libaries Benefits Imaginations of Charter School Children

New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) November 3, 2006

With the help of Book By Book, a K-8 book drive sponsored by Frilot Partridge, L.C., New Orleans Free Academy and McDonogh City Park Academy, two new charter schools in Orleans Parish, will be able to restock their libraries.

“The heart of our schools is the libraries,” says Easter James, head of school at New Orleans Free Academy and regional vice president at The Leona Group L.L.C, which manages the day-to-day operations. “The library is the gateway to the imagination and we must have a robust collection of books to foster our children’s interest in reading. Please help us improve Orleans Parish education and donate books to our libraries.”

New Orleans Charter Schools Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that sponsors the charters for both the New Orleans Free Academy and the McDonogh City Park Academy, needs the support of the community to replenish their libraries. In addition, each donor will have the opportunity to fill out a personal bookplate sticker, available at each drop-off location, that will be inserted into the inside cover of their donation.

The book drive, made possible by Frilot Partridge L.C., will be accepting donations at the following locations in the Greater New Orleans area:

Frilot Partridge L.C., 1100 Poydras Street, Suite 3600, New Orleans, Louisiana 70163

Octavia Books, 513 Octavia Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70115

The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, 925 Camp Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130

Please, all donations must be in “like new” condition with attached bindings, no ripped pages, no water stains, no writing on the pages and no mold. In addition to donating books at the above locations, please visit www.frilotpartridge.com to purchase books from the Amazon.com New Orleans Charter Schools Foundation Wish List. Or, visit www.amazon.com and search for the New Orleans Charter Schools Foundation Wish List. The New Orleans Charter Schools Foundation staff will fill out bookplates on behalf of the donor for all online purchases.

You can also make a financial contribution of any size, which will go towards the purchase of new books. Pelican Publishing Company has offered a generous discount to Frilot Partridge, L.C.

in order to assist with the donation of books for the Book by Book Program.
