You must be 21 and wear some version of a red dress but it doesn’t matter if you are a guy or a girl. Just another way to have fun and raise money for charity in the Big Easy. Mark your calendar because registration is now open! Yes you can now register for the 2015 Red Dress Run!
For those of you unfamiliar with this phenomenon once a year the New Orleans French Quarter is overrun with people in red dresses. It is definitely a sight to see. It is a huge run/party all to benefit various charities in the greater New Orleans area. This event is put on by the NOH3 or the New Orleans Hash House Harriers, a drinking club with a running problem. The New Orleans Red Dress Run seems to just get bigger and better every year. Thanks to the NOH3 and all who participate they have passed on to more than 100 local charities more than one million dollars. Outstanding! It is important to encourage everyone to register if you want to be part of the real Red Dress event. Who doesn’t want to support New Orleans while having a great time? While a lot of people just hanging in the Quarter in a dress, which is pretty lame by the way, anyone who does that is missing the true spirit of this event. So please register!
You should be aware this is an adults only party so you must be 21 years of age on or before August 8, 2015 to participate. Sorry minors there are NO exceptions! As I mentioned before it takes more than just a red dress to take part. Only by registering do you assist the many New Orleans charities that this event aids. You also have to register to be included in the whole shebang – which incorporates awesome food, super bands, more beer than you can dream of, the actual Run and all goes with it.
According to the official site there are two registration options. The regular registration is for the Red Dress Event on Saturday. The Hasher registration also includes the Red Lingerie Run on Friday night, a special area on Saturday, and the Hangover Run on Sunday. The Hasher option is only available to real hashers. If you think you have what it takes to be one all you have to do is join the nearest local hash and get started. You have time. If you have any questions please visit the official site and check out the FAQ’s. See the link below.
