New Orleans Saints DB Malcolm Jenkins
Being the Defensive Player of the week is an honor, winning that honor twice in a three week span. That is something that usually only happens in a video game.
Safety Malcolm Jenkins was a big part of the New Orleans Saints victory over the St. Louis Rams. Jenkins intercepted two Sam Bradford passes and returned one for a touchdown in the New Orleans Saints 31 – 13 victory Sunday December 12th at the Louisiana Superdome.
Jenkins had 105 interception return yards which ranks 2nd in team history behind Tommy Myers. Myers had 151 yards on 3 interceptions in 1978. Jenkins stats for the season through week 14 are 75 tackles of which 50 are solo tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and ten pass defenses. Jenkins is the first New Orleans Saint player to win Player Of The Week honors twice in one season since Sammy Knight did it in 2001.
