2009 New Orleans Saints – Super Bowl 44 Champions: The Legend Begins

43 years of pain and joy. Nearly 23 years as a fan for myself. To a great team, great city, and greatest fan base in the NFL….my tribute to some of the greatest moments in New Orleans Saints history:

1) John Gilliam returns the first kickoff in Saints history at Tulane Stadium for a TD

2) Tom Dempsey kicks the longest field goal in NFL history

3) Archie Manning and the Saints win the first game in Superdome history

4) The Dome Patrol and Hall of Famer Rickey Jackson

5) Brian Milne recovers the ball after “HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!”

6) The River City Relay

7) Steve Gleason blocks Michael Koenen’s punt in the first game back in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina (I was there in Section 619, Row 15, Seat 13)

8) Tracy Porter intercepts Brett Favre to save the NFC Championship and push it to overtime

9) Garrett Hartley kicks the Saints into Super Bowl 44

10) Tracy Porter intercepts Peyton Manning to seal the Saints first Super Bowl Championship

11) Peyton Manning throws one last incompletion and the Saints win the Super Bowl!!!
