New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints Running Back Pierre Thomas is expected to return after being out for the past three months with an ankle injury. Thomas was part of a dual attack with Reggie Bush prior to injuring his ankle in the third week of the season.
The New Orleans Saints could use the help a healthy Pierre Thomas will provide. In the past several weeks, the New Orleans Saints have gotten off to fast starts but have allowed the games to become close. Part of the reason is lack of offensive production in the second half of those games. Reggie Bush is receiving and outside threat even though he has started running inside the tackles of late. Chris Ivory has stepped up his game. He has gained 636 yards through the Bengals game and has scored 5 touchdowns. Having the trio of Bush, Ivory and Thomas will make the New Orleans Saints more of an issue for opposing defenses. Thomas has been very effective when they use him on screen plays.
The New Orleans Saints have done what championship teams do. They find a way to win. They have had injuries, and blown first half leads yet they are still second in the division behind the Falcons and lead the wildcard teams at 9 -3.
The New Orleans Saints play the Rams in the Superdome Sunday December 12 in one of the late games. This is a game where both teams have something to play for. The New Orleans Saints want to keep pace with the Falcons in the division and stay ahead of the Giants in the wildcard race. The Rams need to win their division in order to make the playoffs.
