Executive Chef Michael Farrell’s Delicious Dishes to be Paired with Seavey Winery Selections

WHY:               The world renowned Le Meritage Restaurant will be delighting diners with a Seavey Winery four-course dinner at the 19th Annual New Orleans Wine & Food Experience. Wine selections for the dinner include a Chardonnay, 2005 Merlot, 2005 Caravina, 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. Chef Farrell crafted a menu of original dishes to perfectly compliment each featured wine. Dishes included Foie Gras Torchon topped with blueberry compote, red wine reduction and crispy bacon; Corn Stuffed Quail with wild rice, arugula and coriander vinaigrette; Duck Two Ways with fig compote, foie gras and butterpotatoes; and Seared Beef Filet with rustic mashed potatoes, black olives and sundried tomatoes. Tickets are $125 and are all inclusive, reservations arerequired for the event.
                        The founder of Seavey Winery, Arthur Seavey, will be cohosting the event with Chef Michael Farrell. The vineyard was purchased and restored by the Seavey family in 1979. Some featured wines, including the Chardonnay being served at the NOWFE reception, are exclusively for members and not available for public purchase. Le Meritage Restaurant offers diners a new wine-inspired culinary experience. Executive Chef Michael Farrell developed a menu of eclectic dishes inspired by fresh Louisiana ingredients and designed to be a perfect compliment to the restaurant’s extensive wine menu.
