what is something fun to do in the french quarter?

i am trying to plan a date in the french quarter that does not revolve around bourbon street. nor taking one of those horse carriages. is there something else fun to do besides drink? When I was a graduate student in New Orleans some of my favorite French Quarter activities were to start with a lunch at Napoleon House. http://www.napoleonhouse.com/ Then move onto the Louisiana State Museum. http://lsm.crt.state.la.us/ It is a wonderful museum with a delightful Mardi Gras exhibit featuring some historic gowns and "royalty" items. Next up I would head over to the Museum of the American Cocktail. It is quick and fun. http://www.museumoftheamericancocktail.org/ I would then slow down…

I will be coming with my job so it would definitely be after 5-6pm outings. Thanks There is a restaurant on the corner of Conti and Bourbon called Ole New Awlins Cookery. As for the haunted tours, they give a lot of false information but if that doesn’t matter…

New Orleans Pirate Wenches A Pirates Look at NOLA

New Orleans Rewind to 1977: I was sitting in the back of geometry class with the newest Fern Michaels paperback stuck in my text book. I have always been an avid reader and in those teenage days much preferred romantic fiction to any type of math. (Actually, I still do.) She didn’t wring her hands and wait to be rescued. This particular lady kicked ass and took names all on her own. Since I was…
