There are many people who are now trying a legal for of  pot called Herbal Incense  that has severe effects. Herbal Incense is simply synthetic cannabis is a psychoactive herbal and chemical product which, when consumed mimics the effects of cannabis. Herbal Incense is best known by the brand names K2[1] and Spice,[2] both of which have largely become genericized trademarks used to refer to any synthetic cannabis product. (It is also for this reason that synthetic cannabis is often referred to as spice product, due to the latter.)

When synthetic cannabis blends first went on sale in the early 2000s it was thought that they achieved an effect through a mixture of legal herbs. Laboratory analysis in 2008 showed this was not the case and that they in fact contained synthetic cannabinoids which act on the body in a similar way to cannabinoids naturally found in cannabis, such as THC. A large and complex variety of synthetic cannabinoids, most often cannabicyclohexanol, JWH-018, JWH-073, or HU-210, are used in an attempt to avoid the laws which make cannabis illegal, making synthetic cannabis a designer drug. It has been sold under various brand names, online, in head shops and at some gas stations.

It is often marketed as “herbal incense”, however some brands market their products as “herbal smoking blends”.

In either case the products are usually smoked by users. Although synthetic cannabis does not produce positive results in drug tests for cannabis, it is possible to detect its metabolites in human urine. The synthetic cannabinoids contained in synthetic cannabis products have been made illegal in many European countries. On 24 November 2010, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency announced it would make five synthetic cannabinoids Schedule I drugs within a month using emergency powers. Prior to the announcement, several US states had already made them illegal under state law. As of March 1, 2011, five cannabinoids, JWH-018, JWH-073, CP-47,497, JWH-200, and cannabicyclohexanol are now illegal in the US.

Jason Marsalis, the youngest son of pianist and music educator Ellis Marsalis, Jr., is well known for his prodigal drumming. As a drummer, Marsalis collaborates frequently with his father and his brothers Delfeayo and Branford. When he is not filling the drum chairs in these groups, Marsalis performs as a vibraphonist with his own quartet and with musicians such as Shannon Powell, Irvin Mayfield and others.
 
Southern Eagle is a beverage-based wholesaler and distributor of Anheuser Busch products and its alliance brands throughout southeastern Louisiana. Avia wines come from Slovenia, just across the Italian border, where they benefit from the Mediterranean climate and the warm breezes of the Adriatic Sea. Heiner Brau is a Covington-based microbrewery owned by German brewmaster Henryk Orlik.

New Orleans

Hey y’all!  Things are getting hot here in New Orleans! No, I’m not talking about the New Orleans Saints controversy.  Hot off of the editor’s cutting board is a new trailer for the dark adult drama Subrosan! Check it out below!  We have talked about this amazing independent web series before and in the words of one of the main characters “It’s about to get exciting!”  A scheduled release date of April 19th has been set for the first episode with subsequent episodes to follow once a week. Subrosan was conceived and written by Dwayne Coots. It is being produced by the Subrosan Entertainment Group, a collective of actors and creative professionals.  This is just another example of the great filmmaking going on in Louisiana aka Hollywood South.  New Orleans has been home to many films over the last few years and offers much in the way of locations and talent.  While Subrosan has made use of what was readily available in New Orleans, it also takes us to other parts of the state and reveals that Louisiana as a whole is rich in all resources.  Please enjoy the Subrosan trailer.  Share with your friends and get ready for the first episode.  Like the monkey said when he lost his tail, “It won’t be long now!”

Guiding Light – October 1982 – Nola Spies On Quint

Lt. Wyatt visits Nola at the boarding house. Lt. Wyatt tells Nola he and the FBI want her help. He asks her to move back to Thornway Road to observe things. He says that Silas Crocker still hasnt been found, but they have found that Alan Spauldings kidnappers have been traced to people Quint has associated in the past. He says it would be a big help to them if Nola moved back in with Quint and reports any strange occurrences.

Nola says she could never do that because she likes Quint and hes been very good to her, but they state she could help prove Quints innocence. Lt. Wyatt tells her to think it over and let him know, but he asks her not to discuss this with anyone.

Quint and Mrs. Renfield are in the study and hes telling her how he went to speak with Nola about coming back to Thornway Road. Mrs. Renfield says thats good but they have to be careful because of whats going on on the third floor. Quint gets visibly upset saying that this has been going on for 2 years and asks Mrs. Renfield how long he has to pay for past mistakes. She says that she just doesnt want Nola or anyone to find out all their secrets, then asks Quint if hes planning on going to the police and telling them everything. He says of course he isnt, that if he does that everything will come out.

Quint says that all he wants is to spend some time with Nola and the baby, that he wants to pretend they have some kind of future together. Mrs. Renfield says that she understands, but he has to understand that if he chooses to live in a dream world, even for a short time, it will be harder for him when that dream world comes to an end.

Helena arrives, stating she just arrived from police headquarters and tells Quint she must talk to him. She warns him that his life is going to be in jeopardy if he doesnt start to cover his tracks up. She tells him that the police are asking some very dangerous questions.

Gracie is sitting at a table in the cafeteria at the hospital. Nola arrives, obviously taking the whole spy thing too seriously. She is wearing sunglasses and a trench coat and sneaks into the cafeteria and hides behind a plant before running to the table. Nola tells Gracie how the police and FBI have asked her to spy on Quint. She says she has to do it to prove Quint is innocent, that Quint needs her.

Mrs. Renfield joins Quint and Helena in the study. Quint tells her that Helena had been called in for questioning by the police and asked her about Jamie Loomis, who as it turns out, kept a diary.

 So after seeing him out, I picked up the CD again. “Alexis Marceaux” I read.  “Pretty name”, I thought.  The picture on the cover showed an attractive young lady lying in the grass.    “Cute picture” was my next thought.  I guessed her age to be very early 20’s at best.  Still unsure this would be something I ( in my old age) could relate to, I popped the CD in and “pretty and cute” were not what I was thinking as this big amazing voice filled the room.   Wow, could I relate and I definitely had to reevaluate.  “Powerful” and “Beautiful” were just the beginning.  Of course I was going to see her perform live.  Alexis’  “Elevator Ride” had just become my new favorite song.

The revelations kept coming.  Alexis, young as she might be, was no new kid on the block.  She had played her first public venue at 7 years old and had written her first song at 13.  This young singer-songwriter is also an accomplished piano, harmonica and guitar player. “Talented.”   A New Orleans native, Alexis and her family had lost everything in Hurricane Katrina and had to start completely over.   Katrina might have taken her home, but not her dream to play music.  “Gutsy.”  Her dream to play music in New Orleans, a city she loves. “ Heart.”     
 

Check out Alexis Marceaux, the young lady with a powerful, big, beautiful voice who is also a multi-talented performer with guts and heart.  I have seen and heard “Stars” with less to recommend them.  I should have known better than to judge a book or, in this case, a CD by its cover.  Find out for yourself.   Alexis plays live venues all over the greater New Orleans area and is scheduled to perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in April.  For more about Alexis and her scheduled appearances visit her website: http://alexismarceaux.com/
