    what is something fun to do in the french quarter?

    i am trying to plan a date in the french quarter that does not revolve around bourbon street. nor taking one of those horse carriages. is there something else fun to do besides drink? When I was a graduate student in New Orleans some of my favorite French Quarter activities were to start with a lunch at Napoleon House. http://www.napoleonhouse.com/ Then move onto the Louisiana State Museum. http://lsm.crt.state.la.us/ It is a wonderful museum with a delightful Mardi Gras exhibit featuring some historic gowns and "royalty" items.
