Talkin bout Zenni
People here in NOLA have been shouting ”Who Dat?!” in the streets for a long time but more recently there are talking about something else. The high cost of eyeglasses. I’ve got news, people. Stop the whining and complaining about the prices you have to pay for a pair of eyeglasses . You need to know about Zenni Optical. Because Zenni manufactures its eyeglasses in China there is a waiting period. With these prices you will be glad to wait, I guarantee, Cher
The prices at Zenni range from a mere eight bucks, that is correct, eight bucks, to forty dollars a pair at the high end. When considering your choices starting with where to have those eyeglasses made to all of the multiple lens and frame options, of course it’s Zenni Optical. Their low cost product will make that decision for you. Be prepared, there is an extra charge if you want bifocals or thick lenses. They also charge extra for anti-glare coating. At $4.95 extra as opposed to around $50-$100 extra at other places it is an easy choice. Shipping is just $4.95 no matter how many pairs you order, so get eyeglasses for your entire family at Zenni Optical.
Which Bourbon Street bars show UFC fights?
I am going to New Orleans on Memorial Day weekend and staying near Bourbon Street. Which bars (if any) show UFC fights?
Well, I have been to the French Quarter and walked down Bourbon Street many times and while you are there, you might as well sight see every bar on Bourbon Street! They are all nice and listen to the music and tour. I would not go there and just see one bar! You might as well tour them all. They probably all have a tv too watch the game in between the other sights to see. Have a good time!
How much land is lost in New Orleans and Louisiana as a whole due to rising waters yearly?
I read that New Orleans will eventually become completely submerged, does anyone know the rate at which the land is being lost?
Louisiana is losing land to coastal erosion, not “rising waters”.
The exact area that has been lost is debatable, but it is huge.

I’m turning 21, and I’ll be spending it on Bourbon Street. What should I drink?
I don’t really know many drinks, usually at home I just stick to the gin&tonic, margaritas, and beer.
What drinks do you think would be best to try out for my 21st?
And are there any New Orleans specialty drinks I should try while there?
I like almost any drink, unless it tastes like straight alcohol.
have a hurricane!!!!!

How much Money Do I need to Bring for a 4 day trip to New Orleans?
I am visiting my fiancee’s hometown for 4 days starting February 19th through the 24th I heard something about "FAT TUESDAY" but I dont know what that is, anywho I need to know how much money I should plan on spending out there and also if anyone could throw in some great attractions that last all night long I would greatly appreciate it?
I wouldn’t bring more than $75. When traveling to a city you don’t know well, you really shouldn’t carry a lot of cash. If you have a credit card that would be much better. And, most credit cards offer cash-back. And like somebody already said, new orleans is dangerous, so be ready for anything, and don;t carry a lot of money.
Is it safe to travel to new orleans for mardi gras next year?
I am planning a trip next year for Mardi Gras, but I have heard that New Orleans is still a very dangerous place for tourists. Would anyone who lives there or has been there recently confirm this? We are planning to go as a group and will probably rent a pair of SUV’s for the trip. I am concerned that the trucks may make us targets for being robbed.
Oh My God. Do you think that no one else in New Orleans drives an SUV. I will admit that New Orleans has it’s problems, but if you plan on coming to the city for Mardi Gras, just be a smart traveler. Do as you would in any big city. Be aware of your surroundings, make reservations in an area that is safe, try to stay in the vicinity of the festivities, so that you don’t have to drive around a lot. I am going to assume that you are going to frequent Bourbon Street. You can get hotels in the French Quarter, within walking distance of everything. Do your research. Do not wait too long to make your reservations, they will be booked up soon.
If you are still very concerned my suggestion is to make sure you have insurance on the SUV’s, or, choose another destination for your vacation.
And, just FYI… I work in the heart and center of the Central Business District, 5 blocks from Bourbon Street, and I drive an SUV to work every day… a big red on at that, and have been for the past 5 years, and have never been robbed.

A spicy little slice of New Orleans.
