    Louis Cathedral and Pontalba buildings. This made the buildings excellent for people-watching and to have a glimpse of all of the events occuring in the streets.

    Today French Quarter design is a mix of French, Spanish, Creole and American styles and due to its development it's also home to several hostels, boarding houses and many commercial corporations. The cast-iron balconies in Pontalba homes generated a recent trend in French quarter buildings and many mansions started including these sublime terraces.
