The LaLaurie Mansion – New Orleans French Quarter
This building is reputedly the most haunted site in the entire city of New Orleans, formerly the home of Madame Delphine LaLaurie and her 3rd husband Dr. Leonard Louis LaLaurie. Presently owned by Nicolas Cage, it has demonstrated more activity to guests on tours than any other site in the city. It has a history steeped in horror and blood, and the metaphysical “stains” do not wash out easily.

Y-Man is a good …
Y-Man is a good tour guide. Originally heard story on Paul Harvey which I taped. The tape dragged creating a demonic sounding story! The machine was ok, same tape played normally later. Made my hair stand up!
True or not, one of …
True or not, one of the most terrifying stories in American folklore. Thanks for much for posting. What’s the name of the tour guide? What association does he work for?
The New Orleans Bee …
The New Orleans Bee can be found in city records, for those who are curious. Of course, by our standards one might consider it to be a sensationalist publication similar to the Enquirer. The reports of hauntings have, for obvious reasons, not been recorded in such a way as to be “substantiated”, but most reports are by word of mouth and recorded by someone who did not actually have the experience. After all, few people want to record their unexplained experiences only to be ridiculed for it.
Most of this is …
Most of this is completely unsubstantiated.

Lalaurie returned to France. They had the money and the connections to leave the country. I doubt if they went to northern Louisiana, the police would have spotted them. They hid out at a location with the help of their connections, then they got on the boat.

Aww, that’s too bad. Unless he’s looking for a house sitter, or something. See, I have plans to go to New Orleans (in the near future) and I was under the impression for the longest time that it was an apartment building. I have an obsession with haunted houses.

Yes, although I do not believe he presently dwells in the building. It may currently be in use as a guest house, however I cannot guarantee that information is accurate.
Thank you for your …
Thank you for your compliment. New Orleans is no longer the place it was before Hurricane Katrina, but it is not destroyed. Although I no longer lead tours of the New Orleans French Quarter, the Haunted History Tours are still in operation, and the French Quarter area remained untouched by the flooding. It is still an amazing place, and if you have the opportunity, I highly recommend you visit.
